Job Overview:
An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aircraft by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing them. They work on a variety of aircraft systems, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more. AMEs must adhere to airline regulations, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough, routine inspections of aircraft and their systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including replacing parts, lubricating components, and adjusting systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
- Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure the safety of aircraft operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Ensure that aircraft and systems comply with company, federal, and other regulations.
- Supervise and train apprentice AMEs
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License
- Permanent Canadian Resident
- Hold a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M) License
- Type endorsements on BH206, Airbus AS350B2/B3e AS355NP series. (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel, flight crews, and management
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems effectively.
- Understanding of safety protocols and industry standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively with other engineers, mechanics, and pilots.
- Ensuring that all tasks are performed accurately and thoroughly.
- A licensed AME is required to sign off on the maintenance of aircraft, ensuring its airworthiness before takeoff.
- Familiarity with airframes, engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, avionics, etc.
